Postion Overview

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Deputy Chief Engineer, the employee is responsible for the inspection of projects making sure contractors conform to county requirements and specifications. Coordinates corrections with contractors and makes recommendation regarding approval to the Chief Engineer. May assist with surveys, data base management, project inspections, possess a valid driver’s license, may be required to obtain ALDOT certifications for various types of inspection and assist the general public with research and provide general information. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer. Completion of certification as an Engineer Intern in the State of Alabama, graduated from a college or University with specialization in civil engineering, ABET accredited, ability to work non-standard hours, ability to work in various extremes of inclement weather, ability to communicate with the contractor on the phone and in person. Ability to be on call and assist with emergencies as required. Interested applicants may submit resume and application by email or in person:
